The Challenge
The Mt Cass Wind Farm is one of New Zealand's largest renewable energy developments, bringing together contractors, engineers and specialist teams to deliver critical infrastructure in North Canterbury.
Operating on an active construction site requires vehicles that are more than capable off-road. They must meet strict site safety standards from day one while remaining reliable throughout the life of the project.
The project required a fleet that could be deployed immediately, equipped to site requirements, and fully supported for the duration of construction.
Our Solution
Cross Country supplied six new 4x4 utility vehicles on long-term rental, purpose-prepared for the demands of the Mt Cass Wind Farm construction site.
Rather than supplying standard vehicles, each ute was fitted with the equipment required to meet the project's safety and operational standards before being delivered to site.
This allowed project teams to begin work immediately with vehicles that were fully prepared for the environment they would be operating in.
Delivering the Fleet
Every vehicle was configured to meet the customer's site requirements before handover.
Each ute was equipped with:
- All-terrain tyres suitable for construction site conditions.
- Flashing beacon lights.
- Reversing buzzers.
- Fire extinguishers.
- First aid kits.
By delivering vehicles ready for work, the project team avoided the time and cost of arranging modifications after delivery.
Backed by Cross Country's long-term rental programme, the fleet remains fully maintained and supported throughout the construction phase.
